Tawnya “Tawny” Lee England Benzo January 16, 1961 – December 12, 2020 Tawnya Benzo passed away peacefully in Spokane with family by her side on Dec. 12, 2020 after complications from a brain hemorrhage. She is survived by her two sons and daughter-in-law, Nicholas Asplund and Richard & Holly Asplund; mother, Penny England; brother, James Matthew England; sister, Wendy Rice; former husbands John Asplund and Joe Benzo; and many more extended family and friends. Born in Pocatello, ID, Tawny received an ed degree in 1995 from EWU and spent most of her career as a teacher in WA. In her last years, she worked within the Spokane Regional Health District, most recently as a care coordinator for individuals with COVID. She loved family and friends, animals, music, and the ocean. We love and miss her.
