Suzanne Bretting

Suzanne Roylance Bretting, 76, peacefully rejoined the Lord on August 18, 2023.

Born in Pocatello, Idaho on May 23, 1947, Suzanne was the daughter of Francis Harvey and Myrtle Zella
Roylance. She met Larry Bretting of Houston, Texas in 1965 at a dance at Fairchild Air Force Base and
they immediately fell in love. They married in 1967 and raised two sons in their happy Spokane home,
enjoying baseball and football games and trips to Coeur d'Alene Lake. A graduate of Kinman Business
University, she built an accomplished and highly respected paralegal career, helping thousands of
Spokanites plan their estates for over 40 years. Suzanne was a committed Christian and active member
of Holy Cross Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School and worshipped alongside her family
and friends. She was a great lover of sports, Elvis Presley, cooking, celebrating Thanksgiving and
Christmas, reading, and Tom Cruise movies.

Suzanne is survived by her husband, Larry Bretting of the home; son Neil and wife Jenifer of Nashville,
Tennessee; son Corey and wife Lisa of Portland, Oregon; grandchildren Austin, Trinity, Hunter, and
Harmony; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is reunited in Heaven with her parents; best friend
and sister Jan Titchenal; sisters Ruth Ames, LaRee Epperson, Helen Roylance, and Patricia Reed; and
brothers Floyd Roylance and Duane Reed.

A celebration of Suzanne’s life and legacy will take place on August 26, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Holy Cross
Lutheran Church. Visitation will be held after the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family
would like donations to be made in her name to Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
