Robert Lee Jewett
1925-2025

It is with heavy hearts full of love that we announce the passing of Robert (Bob) Lee Jewett on November 6, 2025. Bob was born in Twin Falls, Idaho on December 15, 1925, to the late John and Christine Jewett. At five years of age his parents and four other siblings moved and eventually settled in Noxon, Montana where he graduated from Noxon High School in 1944.

Bob worked at the Bremerton ship yards for a time, saving up to attend Coyne Electric in Chicago. After finishing he moved to Spokane where he worked as an electrician with Kaiser Aluminum, Mead plant in 1947. In the early 1950's he became the Mead Steelworkers Union President. He was soon drafted by the Army and served in the signal corps at Fort Huachuca in Arizona for 2 years. In 1956, he returned to Kaiser Mead. becoming Maintenance Supervisor until retiring in 1982. However, Kaiser Trentwood asked for his help on projects which he thoroughly enjoyed until officially retiring in 1990.

On June 12, 1949, Bob married Barbara Thompson. In 1959, they bought property on the Little Spokane River and built their dream home that sits above the river and raised their three children. Bob wanted to be able to see the reflection of the moon in the river from his home and has it ever shined for him through the years.

Bob loved the outdoors hunting, fishing, gardening, landscaping and as he always said "I want to play in the dirt". He was always willing to help family, friends, and neighbors with any projects they had.

Bob was preceded in death by his loving wife of 41 years Barbara in 1990, his son Robert in 2015. In the mid 1990's Bob and Ila Atwood began a wonderful relationship until her death in 2024. His siblings who preceded him were: Herbert Jewett (died in WWII), Katherine Michels (Mike), William Jewett (Delora), and Betty Clark (Stuart).

Bob is survived by his son Randy (Susan), daughter Christine (Lee) and daughter-in-law Denise, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A small ceremony will be held for immediate loved ones. A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring of 2026, which will include a large bonfire, Dad's favorite gathering centerpiece.
