Patricia Jean Williams, lovingly known as Patty, passed away on the morning of June 14th 2024 at the age of 86. Patty was born to Oliver and Charlotte Thew on October 20th, 1937 in Tekoa, Washington. She was a loving mother of 6 and wife to husband Jim Williams. Patty graduated from Jenkins High School in Chewelah, Washington in 1956 and worked as a dental assistant, upholsterer and teachers aid before her retirement. Patty and Jim became missionaries in Senegal, west Africa after their retirement.
In 1956 Patty and Jim were introduced by a friend. They were wedded on November 23rd, 1957. The Williams celebrated 66 years of marriage. She loved spending time in the mountains of Montana. She also enjoyed painting and spending time in the garden. Family and friends knew her as a fiery go-getter who was a maternal figure to many, for over sixty years.
Patty is survived by her husband, Jim Williams, and five children: Kathy, Steve, Kris, Melanie and LaVitta. She was preceded in death by her son, Ken. Patty was a grandmother to six grandchildren and had eleven great-grandchildren.
We are thankful for the beautiful and unforgettable years we had with Patty. She will be deeply missed. We know that she will be overjoyed to reunite with her family in heaven. “There is a sacredness in tears. They are not the mark of weakness, but of power. They speak more eloquently than ten thousand tongues. They are the messengers of overwhelming grief, of deep contrition, and of unspeakable love.” Family, friends, and others whose lives Patty touched are invited to attend the memorial service on Saturday, July 20th, 2024 at 3:00 PM. The service will be held at Holy Temple Church of God in Christ, 806 W Indiana Avenue.
