Patricia Ann Hancock

12 May 1945 – 30 August 2025

Patricia “Pat” Ann Hancock was called to her eternal life by her Lord on Saturday, 30 August 2025, at the age of 80. She passed away peacefully while a patient at Providence Holy Family Hospital after a short-term illness. She was born in Missoula, Montana, on 12 May 1945 to Jack A. Goheen and June C. Goheen (previously De La Mare; remarried Beckwith).

Pat graduated from Missoula County High School in 1963 and later from Everett Community College (Everett, Washington) in 1967 with a degree in Nursing. She worked as a registered nurse for the majority of her adult life, specializing in geriatric and long-term care medicine. It was in Everett where she met her roommate and future traveling companion, Jeannie Farley. She also met her husband, Don N. Hancock, in Everett and after their marriage on 08 December 1970, they transferred to Stuttgart, West Germany with the US Army. Pat loved the traveling and experiences that the Army afforded them, with other duty stations providing travels to Fort Gordon, Georgia, Fort Sill, Oklahoma, and Fort Huachuca, Arizona, where they settled down upon Don’s retirement from military service. After living in nearby Sierra Vista, Arizona for several years, she moved back to the Pacific Northwest, residing in Redmond, Washington and then Spokane, Washington until the time of her illness and passing.

Pat enjoyed reading, playing card and board games, putting puzzles together, gardening, and watching television; she loved her shows, including “Forensic Files,” “Jeopardy,” and various programs on Animal Planet. She was also active with her faith and benevolence as a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Spokane.

She is survived by her two adult children, including her son Sean M. Hancock (Gloria) of Yakima, Washington and her daughter Cyndra C. Hancock (previously married to Steven Ratts) of Spokane; one granddaughter, Sadie A. Ratts of Austin, Texas; one brother Jerry Pipinich (and his wife, Michele) of San Bruno, California; and her best friend, Jeannie Farley of Redmond, Washington.

She is preceded in death by her father, Jack A. Goheen, her mother, June C. Beckwith, and brother, Thomas A. Goheen, all of Missoula, Montana. She is also preceded in death by her former husband, Don N. Hancock of Sanford, North Carolina.

The family will be holding a private celebration of life and spreading of her ashes at a later date.
