Michael "Mike" Dietrich

It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Michael Robert Dietrich "Mike" on December 19th, 2022 at the age of 72.  If you have listened to live music in Spokane, it is likely you have heard Mike playing drums.  Mike lived the majority of his life in Spokane.  He moved briefly to Pullman, Washington in 1967 where he graduated from Pullman High School in 1969.  He studied culinary arts at SCC and became a cook at the Chuckwagon; he then went on to work at Eastern Washington University till his retirement in 2007.  Mike stayed busy playing drums for many different bands and volunteering at Second Harvest. 

He is preceded in death by his mother Arnell and father Robert Dietrich.  He is survived by his brother George (Ann Wick-Dietrich) and his sisters Marsha (Terry Jones) and Cindy (John Kromm), nieces and nephews, and many friends. 

Services will be held at Riplinger Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 28th at 3pm.  A celebration of life-jam session will follow at 5pm at the Red Dragon, 1406 W 3rd. In lieu of flowers please donate to Second Harvest in his honor.
