Listen to Obituary

Lynn Christine Powell, 67, passed away surrounded by family on October 24, 2026, in Spokane, Washington. She was born March 14, 1959, in Missoula, Montana, to Allan Powell Jr. and Nada Powell, and grew up in Spokane.

Lynn graduated from Shadle Park High School in 1977 and earned a bachelor's degree in accounting and international studies from Gonzaga University in 1988. She began her career as an auditor with Deloitte & Touche in Seattle, then joined International Paper in 1992, first as an internal auditor and later as controller of its folding carton plant in Clinton, Iowa. In 1998 she joined Philips, where she worked until her retirement, most recently as Director of Business Transformation on the company's global team. Her career took her all over, including several years in the Netherlands.

Lynn was a compassionate person who was always ready to help her friends. She loved to travel, renovate homes, and listen to country music, and she was an avid collector with a special passion for quilts.

She gave her time generously to the causes she cared about. She served for a time as president of Camp Fire's Tennessee chapter, was a devoted supporter of Friends of the Library, and walked in support of the American Heart Association's Heart Walk. She and Tim had recently begun settling into retirement in Carlsbad, New Mexico, where she volunteered at a newly renovated movie theater.

She was preceded in death by her father, Allan, and her brother, Mark. She is survived by her mother, Nada; her partner of 25 years, Tim Harris; and her nieces, Kirsten and Morgan, and many loving cousins.

A memorial service will be held on November 14, 2026, at 1 p.m. at Salem Lutheran Church in Spokane. A second memorial will be held at a later date in Carlsbad, New Mexico.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you share your time and energy with the causes that bring joy and peace to your life.
