Louise Absalonson
May 14, 1930 – October 21, 2025
Louise Absalonson, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2025. She was 95 years old. Born in Spokane, Washington, on May 14, 1930, to George and Elsie Luding, Louise brought a ray of sunshine into every room she entered. She grew up in Spokane and graduated from Rogers High School in 1948. The following year, she married the love of her life, Morris “Morrie” Absalonson, in October of 1949. Soon after their marriage, Morrie enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, and together they began a life of adventure with assignments in Florida and Japan. While living in Florida, they welcomed their first son, beginning a growing family that would come to mean everything to them. They eventually settled back in Spokane, where they raised their three sons and built a lifetime of memories. Louise and Morrie owned and operated Morrie’s TV from their home for more than 50 years, serving their community with dedication and friendship. Louise’s warmth, humor, and kindness left a lasting mark on everyone she met. Louise loved the Lord and was a faithful member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, where she worshiped and served until its closure in 2022. Her faith was the foundation of her life and shone brightly in the way she loved and cared for others. She enjoyed spending time outdoors—boating, crabbing, fishing, and hunting—and cherished every road trip where she was joyfully “on the road again.” She also loved playing card games and Aggravation (“marbles”) with family and friends, often sharing laughter and friendly competition late into the evening. She had an unshakable zest for life, a playful spirit, and a heart full of love for those around her. Louise continued to live independently in her home and drive well into her 90s before moving into assisted living, and later to Ciel Memory Care, where she was cared for with great compassion. Louise was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Morrie, in 2006, and by her brother, Ben Luding. She is survived by her three sons, Ron (Judy), Gary (Nancy), and Randy (Sammi); nine grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; along with many extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly. Her bright spirit, laughter, faith, and love will live on in all who knew her. A Celebration of Life will be held at Riplinger Funeral Home on Monday, November 3, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. All are welcome to attend.
