Lila Whitney

Lila Leone Whitney, born July 20, 1930, passed away Thursday, August 24, 2023. She left this world peacefully in her home surrounded by family and friends, and listening to her favorite music and family reminiscing about her. Lila was adored by all who met her. She was lively, spunky, proudly ornery, and had the most amazing deep love and care for others, and Good Food! She was preceded in death by her husband Edmond C. Whitney; sisters Wanda, Doreen, Thelma; and grandson Terrell Whitney. She is survived by daughter Judith Leone Tolman (husband Sam); son James E Whitney (wife Peggy); sister Glada Hammett; sister-in-law Bobbi Enterkine; many cousins, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Special acknowledgements go to her cousin Larry and his wife Zona Scalph and dear friends Debbie and Mike Meador.  A visitation will be held on Tuesday evening from 4:00 to 6:00pm at Riplinger Funeral Home in Spokane. A chapel service will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, August 30 the funeral home followed by burial at Fairmount Cemetery.
