James Nielsen Kent

March 22, 1931 — June 28, 2018

James Kent, our loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, entered peacefully into rest on June 28, 2018 at Brookdale Care Facility in Spokane Washington.James  was born in St. John, Idaho on March 22, 1931. He graduated from Malad High School with the class of '49. While serving in the U.S. Army in Germany during the Korean War, he married Norine Parry on December 1, 1951 in Malad. They were later sealed to each other for time and all eternity in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.James and Norine started their life together in Ogden, Utah. Their life journey led them to Pocatello, Boise, and finally to Spokane, where they lived since 1963. James worked for Retail Credit Company, which later became Equifax, for more than 35 years. James' family brought him great joy. He was happiest when they were all together, especially during the holidays, birthdays, and Sunday gatherings. His warm spirit and ability to love will be surely missed by all those who knew and loved him.He was preceded in death by his wife, Norine; parents, Daniel William Kent, Jr. and Clara Margaret (Nielsen) Kent; three sisters: Viola Morgan (Leland), Charleen Kent, Janice Kent; and one brother, Dan Kent (Jeanine).He is survived by his five children: Jim (Jan) Kent, Belton, Texas, Lori (Howard) Kenney, Spokane, WA, Monte (Beverly) Kent, Hillsboro, Oregon, Alan (Debra) Kent, Silverdale, WA, Jolene (Brent) Seedall, Spokane, WA; nine grandchildren: Raymond (Katy), Michael (Ayako), Karlene (Matthew), Lindsey, Kayla (Jeff), Nicole (Brandon), Steven, Mark and Kyle;; three great-granddaughters: Jaime, Chloe, and Madison; two great-grandsons: Miles and Conner; many precious nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.Family and friends are invited to graveside services which will be held on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Greenwood Cemetery in Spokane, WA.
