Ruby Dolores (Broadus) Cain

Dolores Cain, 86, of Spokane, WA, passed away on October 23.  Born in Wiggins, MS, on January 8, 1937 to Jesse Randall Broadus and Ruby Blanch Barnes, she was the fifth of six children. She married Mack Hayward Cain on April 25, 1956 in Montgomery, AL.  After high school she worked as an accountant at Sears Roebuck, but left that job to take up her service as the wife of a career Army officer.  In that capacity she manned the helm through 27 moves, six of them international, and kept a welcoming and immaculately decorated home, wherever it might be, all while raising three grateful children. She had a heart for serving others, always ready to help wherever the need may be. She is survived by Mack, her loving husband of 67 years, daughter Carole Cain, grandsons Matt Bennett and Colten Cain, and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to The Salvation Army of Spokane (give.salvationarmyusa.org) or to Honor Flight (honorflight.org/donate).
