Listen to Obituary
  1. Devon D. Blake, born on September 13, 1984 in Spokane, WA. Passed away unexpectedly in the early morning of November 17, 2025, in Spokane, WA. He was the beloved son of Leslie and Donald Blake, Elk, WA.

  2. Devon was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by him.

  3. During High School he worked various construction jobs and helped his dad farm. He later joined Gregg Rimpau's landscape company 'Treescapes', as a climber. He thought of Gregg as a brother. For Devon, the taller the tree the better. He loved the wind whipping around him, the stunning views and the challenges of the job. After 20+ years he began his own company 'Arbor Craft'.

  4. Devon spent most of his life as a Type 1 Juvenile Diabetic diagnosed at 4 years of age. He attended Camp Stix, a camp for Diabetic youth. He lost part of his vision to Diabetes and was also battling Ketoacidosis at the time of his death.

  5. He had a tattoo that represented his ideals in life "work until your haters ask if you are hiring" with him, chainsaw in hand, climbing high in a pine tree and falling a tree next to it. Please remember Devon for how he lived his life, fast and exciting.

  6. Devon was a devoted and loving father to his son, Chase.

  7. Devon is survived by his mom Leslie; beloved sister Jennifer Whitney (Eric); former wife Amanda; son Chance; niece Tayla; nephew Bryce; his very special aunt Loretta (who he often said "understood him"); and many many friends and relatives that loved and will forever miss him and his beautiful smile.

  8. A celebration of Devon's life will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, June 13, 2026 at Elk Park in Elk, WA.

  9. Please consider donating to Camp Stix in Devon's name - help send a deserving kid to Diabetic Camp. Camp Stix
