Daryl Von Triplett

Daryl Triplett was born on Leap Year Day in 1940 in Cheney. WA to Dorothy (Kaiser, Craig) and John Triplett. In his later childhood years, he enjoyed the companionship of his stepfather Howard Craig. Daryl spent most of his years in Spokane attending North Central High School, Eastern Washington Univ. and Whitworth Univ. During that time, he also spent two years in the Army at Fort Riley, Kansas.

A full career of teaching at the upper elementary levels filled his years until retirement. As a Physical Education specialist, coaching basketball and track and field, he attended and officiated numerous track meets in the Inland Empire area. 

Daryl was very active in Country Homes Christian Church since its beginning in 1959. He sang in the choir all those years. He also held many positions such as moderator, elder, and committee member and also built the communion table that is still in use today.  He is remembered as being good natured, speaking from the heart, and helping others as a dedicated and loyal Christian.

During  the summer and on weekends, he bought and sold and remodeled rental houses, with his family.  His hobbies included woodworking and shop projects.  For fun, Daryl enjoyed boating, camping, river tubing, and snowmobiling, as well as befriending dogs of any kind.

He is survived by his wife Carol (Schmitz) of 55 years. Also included in his family are two daughters, Suzun (Kaiser) and Diana (Jason) Putman, his 4 grandchildren T.J., Sierra, Cedric and Morgan and 10 great-grandchildren Eli, Mia, Emit, Evan, Harper, Taliyah, Remi, Leke, A'Ella and Sola.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 4 at 2 p.m. at Country Homes Christian Church at 8415 N. Wall St. in Spokane. All friends, acquaintances and family are invited. Graveside services will be held at a later time.
