Daniel Edward Miller passed away on June 17, 2026 in Spokane, Washington. Daniel was born on January 17, 1950 in Spokane and lived on the family farm near Sprague until his parents Ron and Marge Miller perished in an auto accident in 1966. He then lived with his aunt and uncle, Ed & Thelma Frerichs, until high school graduation. In 1969 he enlisted in the military, serving with the Army Engineers, operating heavy equipment in Vietnam. During the three tours he volunteered for, he was awarded 2 Bronze Stars for Meritorious Service to his country. Upon discharge from the military he operated heavy construction equipment in the Northwest including his own construction company, Boise Cascade, and retired from the Operating Engineers Union in 2011 due to health issues related to his exposure to Agent Orange in Vietnam.
Dan enjoyed his motorcycles, was a member of the North Idaho ATV association, Selkirk Trailblazers, and was a fan of Sprint Boat racing.
He is survived by his brother David Miller (Mary Carter) of Romney, West Virginia and was a caretaker of several pets.
