Carolyn Miller

January 1, 1936 — March 8, 2024

Carolyn Miller, formerly of Great Falls, MT, was called to Heaven on March 8, 2024, in Spokane, WA, with family members by her side.

Carolyn was the first child born at the Tulsa, OK, hospital on January 1, 1936, to Grace Ella Harrison White and Frank Decatur White. She was proud of being first. She was an only child, but had a lot of friends and cousins that were like sisters.

She attended college for two years at Tulsa University, and then married Jim Miller on March 18, 1956. While living in Oklahoma, they were blessed with two sons and a daughter. The family moved to Great Falls in 1964.

Carolyn held several jobs, but her favorite was bookkeeper and personnel at Church, Harris, Johnson, and Williams for 24 years before retiring in 1998. She loved the work and her coworkers.

She was a great cook and hostess, and all of Carolyn, Jim, and their children’s friends were considered a part of their family. The Miller family often travelled back to Oklahoma to see relatives, toured through many states, and spent a lot of their time camping.

Carolyn was always at Jim’s side during events at C.M. Russell High School. They moved to Spokane in 2017. She stayed strong when Jim passed away in December 2018, and wore his wedding ring as a necklace that was later passed down to their oldest son, Randy.

She is survived by her children Randy (Jacquie) Miller, Lori (Dan) Houk, and Greg (Lori) Miller; her grandchildren TJ Houk, Andy (Diana) Houk, Amy Miller, Christy (David Hauschild) Houk, Kyle (Kailee) Miller, Ashleigh Miller, and Hailey Miller; and her two great grandchildren William Houk and Lily Miller.

A memorial service will be held in Great Falls on Saturday, April 6, 2024, from 3:00 - 7:00 pm, at Sleep Inn and MainStay Suites, 520 Country Club Boulevard.

Carolyn was a beautiful and kind lady and will be missed by all who had the privilege to know her.
