Audrey Ann Austin
June 15th 1933 - April 17th 2024
At the age of 90, Audrey Austin passed away peacefully at home in Spokane, WA on April 17th 2024. Born June 15th 1933 to Fredrick Austin and Jenny Broton, in Colfax, she had 16 brothers and sisters. She attended Marycliff high school, and then went on to graduate from Spokane Community College with a degree in nursing. She was a beloved labor and delivery nurse alongside Doctor James Brasch at Sacred Heart Hospital. After retiring, she went on to volunteer her time in Spokane Schools as a nurse aid. In her life-time, she traveled the world, getting to see Colorado, Hawaii, Germany, France, Holland, and many other wonderful places. Audrey was very independent, loved playing Scrabble, spending time with her family, listening to the Mariners games on the radio, reading detective novels, and watching Westerns any chance she got.
Audrey is survived by six of her wonderful children, Jennifer Ruby, Deborah, Timothy & Mary-Kay, Steven, Holly, and Christopher & Rachel. She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren She was preceded in death by her parents, her many siblings, her daughter Rosemary, and two daughters in-law Paula Peppers, and Katy Peppers.
The family would like to thank St. Anthonys Parrish for their prayers and dedications in Audrey’s life. There will be a memorial service at Riplinger's Funeral Home on May 18th at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The Grotto Portland’s Festival of Lights.
