Carla Jean Hintz

Hintz, Carla Jean (Age 70) – passed away with peace and grace on February 18, 2018 in Spokane, WA with her family at her side. Carla is survived by her two daughters, Kelli St. Paul (Shad) of Airway Heights, WA and Lisa Bryant (Troy) of Spokane Valley, WA; Three siblings, Daryl Schleicher (Barry) of Lodi, CA, Jerry Hanson of Spokane, WA and Bill Hanson (Susan) of Spokane, WA; Three grandchildren, Dwayne, Sheena, and Nicole; and five great grandchildren. She was an aunt and great-aunt to numerous nieces and nephews. She also had numerous cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Isobel Hanson of Spokane, WA and sister, Kay Anderson of Spokane, WA. Carla was born in 1947 in Spokane, WA to Oscar and Isobel Hanson. She began her career at Kaiser Aluminum in 1972 and retired in 2000. She held many positions during her tenure that ranged from Production Worker to Supervisor. After retirement, she went back to school and graduated from Spokane Community College in 2001 with an Associated Arts Degree. She was a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars #1474 in Hillyard, WA. She was also a member of the United Steelworkers Organization of Active Retirees Chapter 38-1 District 12. In her younger years, she enjoyed bowling, playing softball and spending recreational time at various lakes with her family and friends. She was dedicated to her work and was very passionate about politics. She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother who put her family above all else. She had a very special relationship with her dog companion, KC, and showered him with lots of love and affection. She was also a very generous person who had many good friends and enjoyed life to the fullest. A service is scheduled at Riplinger Funeral Home 4305 N Division, Spokane, WA on Monday, February 26, 2018 at 2 pm with a reception to follow at the VFW Hillyard Post #1474, 2902 E Diamond, Spokane, WA. All are welcome to come and celebrate Carla’s life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to your local area animal shelters.
