Russell Roy Hill

June 30, 1957 — June 4, 2017

Russell Hill, 59, of Spokane, Washington, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, June 4, 2017. He was born on June 30, 1957, in Brigham City, Utah. Russell was the only child of Jaylene Walls. He enjoyed a close association with his family throughout his life. Russell graduated from Great Falls High School in Montana in 1975. He spent four years in the U.S. Navy and was stationed in San Diego. Russell worked for Boeing in Great Falls and was employed in the construction industry in the Spokane area. He lived an active lifestyle until he suffered a severe brain injury in December 1992. His loving parents took care of him for nearly 25 years. This dedicated and compassionate support enabled Russell to live comfortably at home, even as he faced many health challenges. Russell loved the outdoors, enjoyed baseball and spent several summers in Blackfoot living with his grandparents. He was a kind man, easy going and always worked very hard. He is survived by his parents: Jaylene and John Walls of Spokane; two stepsisters: Kelly Walls and Darcy Lassey of Spokane; one stepbrother: Scott Walls of Spokane; his grandfather, Jack Jones of Blackfoot, one aunt Jackie (Chuck) Graham, Blackfoot; two uncles: Blane Jones and Cary Jones of Blackfoot. He was preceded in death by his loving grandmother, Ilean Jones. No funeral services are planned. A graveside service with military honors will be held later this year at the Malad City, Idaho, cemetery.
