Sherry Louise Bliss

BLISS, Sherry Louise, nee Springer (age 70) – Entered into rest on March 21, 2017 in Spokane, WA. Sherry was born on January 24, 1947 to Harold and Mary Eleanor (Hackley) Springer. She attended local schools and graduated from Mary Cliff High School in 1965. For 20 years, she enjoyed working with her mother dating and validating passport photographs. Additionally she worked as a medical asst. at local medical facilities. Sherry was a proud member of the Lady’s Auxiliary of the Washington Army National Guard. She loved crochet, beadwork (making jewelry), doll making, and sewing. BUT her greatest joy came from becoming “Tiptoe”, her clown name, as she shared hours of smiles giggles, and face painting, with the children of the Shriners Hospital for Children – Spokane, alongside her sister clowns of the Ladies Oriental Shrine. She was Past High Priestess of the Ladies of the Oriental Shrine of North America, Eiram Court No. 62, Spokane, WA. Sherry is survived by her loving and devoted husband, John B. Bliss at their home; children, Laurene Walter of Spokane, Brian Bliss of Sierra Vista, AZ, Tanya Roth of Spokane, and Sean Bliss of Spokane; her sisters, Denise Yates, Joy Springer, Marsha Brown, and Rhonda Springer, all of Spokane; her brothers, Alan Springer of Liberty Lake, and Bruce Springer of Winlock, WA; eleven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held to celebrate her life on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at the Open Heart Chapel, 4123 N Monroe, Spokane, WA, with Pastors Rick Haffner and John Bliss officiating. Reception to follow. Private urn placement will take place at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery, Medical Lake, Washington.
