JOHNSON, Olivia Margaret Sampson (Age 93) – Born on the family farm close to Hensel, North Dakota on July 31, 1923. She entered into rest in Spokane, WA on December 4, 2016. She was the youngest of three children, siblings Kathrine and Gisli. Olivia attended a country school and a high school in Cavalier, North Dakota. She helped on the farm after graduation. Olivia went to Seattle and worked at Boeing Aircraft as a rivet bucker, it was there she met the love of her life, William H. Johnson. They were married on November 10, 1944. Olivia followed him to many Air Bases where Bill was stationed. After his honorable discharge, they came to Spokane where Bill had a job with the fire department. Olivia was a member of the ABWA (American Business Women’s Association), Fire Belles (group of firemen’s wives) and Greater Spokane Organ Club (President for 4 years). Olivia was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of nearly 63 years, her brother, her sister, one aunt, and four uncles. Olivia is survived by her daughter, Louise; nephew, Jim Thorlakson; nieces, Fran Sailer (Dale) and Kay Lyshoj (Tom); 3 great nieces; 5 great nephews; one great great niece and 13 great great nephews; 4 granddogs, Annie, Cooper, Minnie and Chet; and special friends, Kathy Thorlakson, Kim, Brenda, Jeannie and Alyssa, Lonni and Bob Allie and Patty and Rosa Carr. Olivia was a wonderful woman and will be missed by all. Her heart finally gave out on her. At her request, no public service will be held.
