James Walter McLaughlin

James (Jim) W. McLaughlin December 14, 1935 – October 26, 2016 Jim was born in Spokane, WA to John and Hildegarde McLaughlin. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Peggy, his sister Wilma Snider, sister-in-law Helen McLaughlin, step-daughters Penny McGuire and Celeste Larson, four grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends. Jim joined the US Navy after graduating from Gonzaga Preparatory High School. He retired from the Navy with 22 years of service, holding the rank of Chief Petty Officer. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Hillyard Post 1474, where he held the office of Post Commander (2001-2002) and many other offices. He was an active member of the NE Senior Center. A Rosary will be held at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 330 E Boone Ave Spokane, WA on Friday evening, November 11th, at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, November 12th at 11:00 a.m., also at St. Aloysius. A Memorial Service with Military Honors will be held at Hillyard VFW Post 1474 at 2826 E Diamond Ave at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 12th. A Potluck will follow the ceremony; bring your favorite dish and memories.
