GEILE, Nadine Edna Black – Entered into rest on October 15, 2016 in Spokane Valley, WA. Born on Dec 13, 1917 in Portland, OR, to Walter Black and Travis Leftwick Black Smith, Nadine married Herman August Geile in Spokane on Feb 21, 1935. She is survived by two daughters, Joan E. Geile-Barbour and her special friend, John Noethe, and Jean Geile Hatcher and her husband, Donald E. Hatcher; foster daughter, JoAnn Tibbett Symmes (husband, Loel Symmes, deceased); numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman August Geile “Phil”, her Father, Walter Black and her Step-Mother, Francis Black; her Mother, Travis Black Smith and Step-Father, Earl Smith; three brothers; three sisters; a foster daughter, Bess Tibbett Burgess; and one grandson. Nadine was a great homemaker and was especially proud of her yard and flowers. She loved going to Davis Lake and enjoyed fishing and hunting. She worked for a while, at Smith Brothers Greenhouse. At the time of her passing, Nadine was living at Still Waters Adult Family Home and “we Thank them for their kindness and great care.” She had an especially good buddy in Irene and Fran, and all of the residents at Still Waters. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Spokane Memorial Gardens Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will also be held in the Summer of 2017.
