Darren D. Impecoven

June 14, 1965 — August 16, 2016

Born on June 14, 1965 in Spokane, he went to be with the Lord on August 16, 2016. At the early age of 14, Darren’s insurmountable determination to beat brain cancer, carved the path of the amazing man he would become. He joined his team of doctors, and shared this inner strength with others fighting similar battles. At an early age, he realized life’s journey is short; to live as if each day might be your last, and never take those you love for granted. He put value in people rather than material things, and the few things he did have, he graciously gave to those he felt needed or perhaps would enjoy more than he did. Darren graduated from North Central High School, and attended Spokane Falls Community College. He made a career working in the receiving department at Holy Family Hospital for many years, until side effects from the treatment of his childhood illness forced an early retirement. Darren’s favorite place in the world was Loon Lake WA, where he grew up enjoying 4 wheeling, snowmobiling, boating, and camping with family and friends. Darren is preceded in death by his father Jerry, and niece Kami Lynn Impecoven. He is survived by his mother, Judy, a sister Michele (Gary) Cantlon, and brothers Kim (Margie) Impecoven, Terry Impecoven, Kirk (Sarah) Impecoven, and numerous nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed, fondly remembered and forever an important part of the lives of his family. He suffered greatly over the last few months and while we are sad to see him leave, we are incredibly grateful that his pain has ended and he is with God in a better place. A memorial service will be held at Riplinger Funeral Home, 4305 N. Division, Spokane, WA on Friday, August 26th, 2016 at 12:30 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital in Spokane.
