Martha Mae Arthur

ARTHUR, Martha M. (age 88) – Passed away on August 7, 2016 in Spokane, WA. Martha was born, June 17, 1928 in Kalispell, MT. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Seattle, WA in 1945. In 1947, Martha married Ralph Raynard Arthur. She worked at F.W. Woolworths for 20 plus years. After trying to retire many different times, she finally did so at the age of 82. Although living in Seattle most of her life, in 1999, she moved to Sun River, OR, and lived there almost 15 years. She then moved to Spokane in 2014. She is survived by her two daughters, Donna (Michael) Baumgartner of Sun River, OR, and Sharon (Michael) Payson of Spokane Valley, WA; seven granddaughters, one step-granddaughter, 17 great-grandchildren, and 7 step-great-grandchildren. Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; her son, Michael; her father, mother, and step-father; brother, Erich; and sister, Grace. A Memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at Fowler United Methodist Church, 3928 N Howard, Spokane, WA, 99205, Pastor Glenn Kennedy officiating. Burial preceded at Evergreen Washelli Cemetery, Seattle, WA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Fowler United Methodist Church.
