Eugene R. Cofini

October 11, 1932 — May 15, 2009

COFINI, Eugene R. "Gene" - Born on October 11, 1932 and died peacefully with his wife by his side on May 15, 2009 from congestive heart failure. Gene was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. He served in the U.S. Air Force for four years shortly after high school and then followed in his Dad's footsteps working in the jewelry business where he worked until 1970. After wanting to settle in a permanent location, he changed his career path and entered the insurance business. He enjoyed boating, the outdoors and music. He would often be singing a tune or playing the piano. In his later years, he enjoyed playing snowbird, spending part of the year in Spokane and the other traveling throughout Canada, California, Arizona and Nevada. Many lives were forever touched by Gene. He left an indelible mark on all of us. He was married the last 20 years of his life to Katherine (Kay) who was his soul mate. They lived life to the fullest, enjoying time with friends snowmobiling, dancing, and just being together. This exceptional husband, father and grandfather will be missed more than words can say. Gene is survived by his wife of 20 years, Kay; his children, Michael and Debbie; and his grandchildren, Taner, Breanna and Ryan; and also by numerous cousins. There is a special part of Gene that will remain with everyone that knew him, and we are honored and blessed that he was part of our lives. You will remain in our hearts forever. We mourn your loss, but know you are in a better place, awaiting our arrival one day. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Spokane Memorial Gardens Cemetery 5909 S. Cheney-Spokane Rd. Spokane, WA. Memorial contributions may be made in Gene's name to donor's choice.RIPLINGER FUNERAL HOME, 4305 N. DIVISION, SPOKANE, WA entrusted with arrangements.
