September 15, 1940 — April 22, 2016

STOKES, Daryl (age 75) Loving husband, Father and Papa entered into rest at home surrounded by his family on April 22, 2016. Survived by the love of his life, best friend and wife, Karen; three beautiful daughters and Sons- in-law: Sherrie & Jeff Purser, Ginger & Ken Clark and Pennie & Roger Buntrock; Six wonderful grandchildren: Jackie (Nick) Perkins, Mark (Melanie) Purser, Breanna (Josh) Williams, Merissa Clark, Samantha Allen, and Allison Buntrock; One precious great granddaughter, Grace Lynn Perkins; his Brother, Robert Stokes; from a previous marriage, daughter, Sabrina Willis; and son, Todd Stokes. He is preceded in death by his father, Samuel; his mother, Mildred; and by brothers, Don and Dick. Daryl was born on Sept 15, 1940 in Yardly, WA to Samuel & Mildred Stokes. He graduated from North Central High School in 1958. He loved to ice skate and was even pursued by the “Ice Capades” to perform with them, he humbly declined. A very hard worker, Daryl, started work stocking shelves at Albertson’s Grocery. He served his country in the US Army Reserve, delivered milk for Darigold Farms, owned and operated seven different A&W Drive Ins, owned the Old Country Butcher Shop, worked numerous construction jobs, and was the starter for the drag strip of Raceway Park Race track. He completed his working career as owner/operator of Jackie Lynns Flowers/Balloon Specialties for over 30 years. He was not afraid of work. He even found time to master scuba diving at a young age. However, fishing and hunting were two of his most favorite things to do. Loved, almost more than his 3 daughters, are his two dachshund dogs, Sugar and Spice. Daryl was a “Jack of all trades, Master of everything”. He enjoyed helping people, was loved by many and will be greatly missed! Visitation and funeral service will be held at Riplinger’s Funeral Home at 4305 N. Division. Visitations may be made on Friday, April 29 from 9am – 5pm at the funeral home. His Funeral Service to be held on Sunday, May 1, 2016 at 2:00 pm also at Riplinger Funeral Home.
