Lois V. Stintzi

STINTZI, Lois V. 01/05/1915 ~ 01/22/2016 Lois was the eldest of five daughters born to Oscar Lindly Thomas and Mary Elizabeth Coon. She celebrated her 101st birthday on Jan. 5, 2016. She came west with her parents and siblings from Park Rapids, MN and settled in Medical Lake, WA, where Oscar was able to find carpentry jobs (at which he excelled). Lois graduated from Medical Lake High School in 1933. She then went to work at the Old National bank as an elevator operator. This was the favorite of all her jobs. After several years, she moved on to work for the Dental Clinic at the Veteran’s Hospital, where she worked until retiring. Lois married Gerald Stintzi in 1941 and they had 54 years together until his passing in 1995. She is survived by her sister, Donna (Charles) Wheeler in Farmington, NM, and by numerous nieces and nephews. Lois expressed her appreciation to family and friends who loved and cared for her during these last years. Graveside service will be for family only. As she requested, no public funeral will be held.
