Doris Mae Sanford

December 3, 1930 — December 5, 2015

SANFORD Doris Mae (Clark) On December 5th, 2015 at the age of 85, surrounded by loved ones, our dear Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Aunt and Friend passed away peacefully and went to be with her Lord and Savior. Born in Everett, WA on December 3rd, 1930 Doris was the eldest of 3 children, which included her two brothers Melvin and Bruce Clark. Her Parents George and Mable Clark moved the family to Spokane when Doris was 3 years old. She grew up in Hillyard and graduated from Rogers High School in 1948. She married David W. Sanford Sr. on September 16th, 1949 and enjoyed 40 years of marriage until Dave's passing. Doris and Dave raised 5 children, David (LeeAnn) Sanford Jr., Daniel (Margie) Sanford, Deleen (Michael) Keller, Donn (Sara) Sanford and Darcy (Paul) Peplinski, all of Spokane. Grandma Doris was adored by all especially her 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren whom she fondly called her "Puntin's". Doris catered for many years in the Spokane area. Dave and Doris loved spending time together boating, camping and traveling to the coast to crab and fish for salmon with their family and lifelong friends the Absalonsons. Doris will surely be missed by many as she touched the lives of all of those who were lucky enough to have known her. The family would like to thank the caregivers at Fairwood Retirement Center and Cornerstone for all their loving care and support. Funeral service will be held on Friday, December 11, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the Northview Bible Church, 13521 N Mill Rd, Spokane, WA. Interment will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Holy Cross Cemetery.
