Maizie I Mason

Maizie I Mason, age 91, passed away on March 27, 2015.Maizie was born in Elgin, ND, on May 17, 1923 to Frank and Roxie Dunkin.  Her folks moved to Marmarth, ND where she met and married Robert Mason on December 31, 1941.  They moved to Fort Keogh in Miles City, MT in 1942.  Then in June of 1957, they moved to Spokane with three children in tow, Darlene, Donald, and Dorothy. Their fourth child, Dave, was born in Spokane in 1960.Maizie loved to work with crafts and her favorite was crocheting afghans.  She used to crochet afghans for the Vanessa Behan Crisis Center for children.  She also liked to joke around with people, that was her favorite pass time.  She was well liked by all who met her.Maize is survived by her two daughters, Darlene Bridges of Ennis, TX, and Dorothy Deckard of Post Falls, ID.  And one son, Dave and wife Lisa Mason.  Also survived by 12 grandchildren, Valerie Litchfield Thomas and husband BT, Randy Litchfield,, Melanie Litchfield Ferguson of Corsicana TX, Marnie Angle and husband James of Culdesac, ID, Brian Mason of Spokane, WA, Jeff Deckard and wife, Shelly of North Pole AK, Jay Deckard and wife, Kim of Williston, ND, Derek Mason of Oklahoma City, OK, Cory Mason of Minot AFB ND, Ryan Heller of Spokane, Tonja Heller of Albuqerque NM, and Krystal Mason.  Plus numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, her husband, Robert in 1985, and her son Donald in 2003.  A private family graveside gathering will be held at Fairmount Memorial Park on Monday, April 6, 2015 beginning at 11:00AM.
