Leona Eliza Wimmer

Leona Eliza Wimmer "Ammie" was born May 18,1925 to Mark & Maggie Huguenin. She grew up in the Colville area and graduated from Colville High School. She had 4 brothers who have all preceded her in death. She married Don Stratton in 1943. They had 3 children: Dianna, Cindie & Mark. She & Don divorced in 1983 & she moved to Spokane. She married Bill Kraft in 1990. Bill passed away in 2003. She married Bob Wimmer in 2006. They moved to Arizona for a few months, then back to Spokane. Bob passed away in 2013. Leona worked as a secretary for many years, including for ESD 101 & Great Northern School District, finally retiring at age 77. Leona is survived by her daughters & sons-in-law Dianna & Ron Hawn and Cindie & Ron Nation, 9 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren (with another one soon to be born), numerous nieces & nephews, & her dog Missie. She is preceded in death by her son Mark. Leona had many interests & adventures throughout her life, but her greatest joy was her family & friends. She was deeply loved, and her family will miss her more than words can say. Visitation will be Thursday, July 17 from 9:00am - 8:00pm at RIPLINGER FUNERAL HOME 4305 N DIVISION SPOKANE, WA. Funeral service will begin at 1:00pm on Friday, July 18, 2014 at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 2733 W Northwest Blvd. in Spokane. Interment will be 1:00pm Saturday, July 19 at the Chewelah Memorial Cemetery in Chewelah.
