December 24, 1930 — June 6, 2014

MAUK-CORNELL, Marilyn D. – (age 83) Died June 6, 2014 in Spokane, WA. Born in 1930, Saco, MT to Clifford and Edna Allen. A 70 year resident of Spokane, she graduated from John Rogers High School in 1948. An active Democrat, she was proud to be Special Assistant to U.S. Congressman Thomas S. Foley for twenty years. She was a member of the Warren G. Magnuson Democratic Club, the Jane Jefferson Democratic Club, the DAV #45 Auxiliary, the VFW #1474 Auxiliary, and NARFE. Marilyn is remembered as a loyal friend, a loving mother and grandmother, and a master scrap-booker and historian.  Marilyn also loved sewing, gardening and crocheting. Survived by children Susan Harvey (Doug), Bob Mauk (Lee Ann), granddaughters Kayla Almond (Matt), Trista Harvey and Caitlin Shino (Trent) and two great grandchildren. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at 1:00 PM at RIPLINGER FUNERAL HOME, 4305 N Division, Spokane, WA. Private interment will take place at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to either the American Heart Assoc. or to a charity of choice.
